About Us

Sigma Delta Sigma was founded in UCLA on May 24, 2000 by seven extraordinary young women. Since its founding, SDS has expanded to UC Riverside (Beta Chapter), UC Irvine (Gamma Chapter), and USC (Delta Chapter).

Sigma Delta Sigma is a multicultural, community service based sorority and is under the Multicultural Greek Council at UCI. The letters that represent our sorority stand for "Strength through Diversity and Sisterhood"; it is also our organization’s cherished motto.

The sisters of Sigma Delta Sigma strive to uphold the pillars of multiculturalism, community service, academics, and sisterhood. This is done by providing our sisters with the opportunities to learn about different cultures, offering a multitude of community service, and empowering sisters to be their best.

Sigma Delta Sigma distinguishes itself from other sororities by encouraging sisters to actively involve themselves in community service rather than narrowing their opportunities of service with a single philanthropy project. Our sisters volunteer on on-campus and off-campus events, alongside our fellow Anteaters and members in nearby communities. Some of the projects the sisters of Sigma Delta Sigma have been involved with include: Relay for Life, Care-a-thon, Walks for Causes (e.g. Alzheimer's, Diabetes, Lung Cancer, ect...), Hemopet, and Orange County Food Bank.
